Bengal Kittens for Sale in Australia

Brown rosetted Bengal kitten for sale Australia — Ashmiyah Bengal Cats

This is what nearly two decades of selective breeding looks like

Welcome. I’m Lee, the founder and creator of Ashmiyah Bengal Cats. As a GCCFSA-registered breeder based in Adelaide, South Australia, I personally oversee every aspect of our program to ensure the highest standards for the breed I love. I’ve dedicated nearly two decades to producing Bengal cats that are healthy, exceptional in temperament, and visually outstanding. Every kitten we produce carries the influence of international bloodlines from Russia, Europe, and the USA — a foundation that has shaped one of Australia’s most distinctive Bengal breeding programs.

Our Signature Bengal Look

When people encounter an Ashmiyah Bengal for the first time, the reaction is always the same — they can’t believe this level of wild beauty exists in a domestic breed. Every trait below is deliberately bred, consistently produced, and shaped by nearly two decades of selective breeding:

  • Intense rufus toning — rich, warm reds and oranges that glow through the coat
  • Chain rosetting and large donut rosettes — our signature pattern
  • Dramatic contrast — deep, defined markings against a clear background
  • Clear, glittered coats — the glitter gene traces back to Millwood Tory of Delhi, a founding cat of the Bengal breed imported from India in the early 1980s. At Ashmiyah, this piece of breed history has been carefully preserved and refined through our lines.
  • Straight profiles, strong chins — correct breed structure, not just surface beauty
  • Striking nocturnal eyes — large, vivid, round and forward-facing, reflecting the Asian Leopard Cat heritage that makes the Bengal unlike any other domestic breed.

This is not an accident. It is the result of nearly two decades of selective breeding and deliberate pairing with international, multi-award-winning pedigree lines.

Health Testing & Guarantees

Every breeding cat at Ashmiyah is tested before any pairing is planned:

  • HCM screening — echocardiograms performed by a veterinary cardiologist
  • DNA testing — PRA-b and PK-Def, with pairings selected to eliminate risk
  • FIV & FeLV free — no recorded cases since we opened in the early 2000s

Every Ashmiyah kitten comes with a 12-month hereditary genetic guarantee. This is backed by a rigorous health testing program that has been the foundation of our breeding for nearly two decades. Read exactly what we test for and why →

Frequently Asked Questions

We know your time is precious. Our FAQ section is here to answer the questions that matter most, so you can make a confident, informed decision about whether an Ashmiyah Bengal kitten is right for you and your family.

How much do Bengal kittens cost within Australia?

In Australia, Bengal kittens range from around $1,500 to $6,000+ Price generally reflects breeder experience, bloodlines, health testing and overall kitten quality. At Ashmiyah, neutered pet kittens start from $3,500. Every kitten is GCCFSA registered, health tested, and comes with certified pedigree papers. Pricing reflects coat quality, colour rarity, and pedigree lineage. Top quality neuters are priced on application.

How long is the wait for an Ashmiyah Bengal kitten?

Typically 6 to 12 months, including the 12 weeks we raise each kitten before they go home. Joining our pre-booking list is the best way to secure your place.

What health tests should a Bengal breeder do?

HCM cardiac screening via echocardiogram, and DNA testing for PRA-b and PK-Def. Ashmiyah conducts all of these, and every kitten comes with a 12-month hereditary genetic guarantee — backed by a rigorous testing program that has been the foundation of our breeding for nearly two decades. Read exactly what we test for and why →

Are Bengal cats good family pets?

Yes. Bengals are intelligent, affectionate, and highly interactive. Our kittens are home-raised and socialised from birth, which means they settle quickly and bond deeply.

Can you deliver a Bengal kitten to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth?

Yes! No matter where you are in Australia, an Ashmiyah Bengal kitten can reach you safely. We work exclusively with Animal Travel Adelaide to arrange pet-safe flights via Qantas and Virgin Australia. Delivery is available to all major Australian airports including Sydney (NSW), Melbourne (VIC), Brisbane (QLD), Perth (WA), Hobart (TAS), Darwin (NT) and Canberra (ACT). Door-to-door delivery and international transport are available on request.

What does GCCFSA and DACO registered mean?

Ashmiyah holds two important registrations. GCCFSA (Governing Council of the Cat Fancy of South Australia) means our cattery is formally recognised by the cat fancy, our cats carry legitimate pedigrees, and our kittens come with registered pedigree papers. DACO is a South Australian Government cattery licence — it means we operate as a registered cattery under State legislation. Together these registrations mean you are buying from a breeder who is accountable at both an industry and government level.

Can I visit before buying?

As a registered closed cattery, we don’t offer visits. This isn’t a policy we take lightly. It is the single most important thing we do to protect the health of every cat and kitten in our care.

Outside visitors, however well-intentioned, can unknowingly introduce viruses, bacteria, and pathogens that a newborn kitten’s immune system simply cannot handle. Our queens with new litters need quiet, calm, and security.

Disturbance in those early weeks can affect bonding, milk production, and kitten health in ways that aren’t always immediately visible. Closing the cattery door is how we ensure every Ashmiyah kitten gets the healthiest possible start.

In place of visits, we keep our families well connected through regular photos, updates, and direct access to Lee by phone from deposit to delivery.

Enquire About an Ashmiyah Bengal Kitten

Ashmiyah Bengals are not your average Australian bred Bengal. The bloodlines, the rosettes, the rufus toning, plus the coat clarity are traits that take decades to develop and are rarely seen at this level in Australia.
